AN UPDATE ON THE COVID SITUATION IN MYANMAR
It is now almost a year since the Covid pandemic has deeply affected our activities and hampered our movements.
Myanmar is no exception even though the country has so far managed to contain the spread of the virus to a relatively low level.
The daily cases are around 400, steadily decreasing since several weeks ago. This is an encouraging sign, although the country’s international airports remain closed and traveling in the provinces is still subject to strict regulations.
However, there are positive signs toward the prospect of easing restrictions on travel. Indeed, the famous Ngapali beach is now accessible again by flight from Yangon, with several hotels having reopened, provided visitors have tested negative to Covid tests.
In addition, Myanmar has started its national vaccination campaign by end of January 2021.
At Think Asia Travel, despite our activities have drastically reduced, our office remains open to maintain contact with our customers and our local partners, ready to welcome our first visitors in a future that we wish as close as possible. October 2021 would hopefully seem a plausible re-starting date!
